The Cermis plateaus are attractive country for hikers, easily reachable from Cavalese by the lifts. From Paion del Cermis (2229 m), path 353 goes down to Forcella di Bombasel (2180 m) and the lakes of the same name. From the nearby Forcella del Macaco, on the left, you enter a track that goes down to the spectacular Lake of Lagorai, the largest in the chain. Near Malga Lagorai, not far from the southern shore of the lake, a steep rise with a 250 metre altitude gain, waymarked 319, leads to Forcella di Cadinello (2124 m). Another steep descent leads to the northern amphitheatre of Cimon di Cadinello, which you follow east to Baito Mandre de Muro (1995 m), and then descend to Malga Toazzo (1452 m). From here, an unpaved road goes through the whole of Val Cavelonte to Ziano di Fiemme (952 m).
