Walking in safety

For outings in the mountains choose itineraries suitable for your physical and technical ability, reading beforehand everything you need to know about the area you want to visit. The new trails have been marked in different colours according to difficulty.

MEDIUM: medium route with some arduous sections for hikers able to walk for over 4/5 hours; rest stops very far apart.
DIFFICULT: very challenging routes for expert and equipped trekkers, who are completely independent.

Wear clothing and carry equipment suitable for the difficulty and length of the outing and put everything needed in the case of an emergency, plus a first aid kit, in your rucksack.

Preferably avoid walking alone in the mountains and, in any case, always tell someone which route you are taking and when you expect to be back.

Find out what the weather forecast is and always watch out for changes.

When in doubt turn back. It is often better to give up rather than risk the danger of bad weather or difficulties beyond your strength, ability and equipment. Prior to an outing study a possible alternative return routes.

Bring all your litter back to the valley. Respect the flora and fauna. Avoid leaving the path unnecessarily and taking short cuts.
